Obituary for David Lloyd Cooke

David Cooke, 66, of Jamesville, NY, passed away Saturday May 8th, 2021 at Crouse Hospital with his loving wife and children by his side. Born in Syracuse, NY, he graduated from Jamesville-DeWitt High School and went on to own and operate Cooke’s Car Care in Jamesville.

Dave was a knowledgeable, hardworking man with a huge heart who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He certainly worked hard and laughed even harder.

He had a great love for boating, spending time with family and friends, and “just putzing around” in his favorite place, the barn. He also had a passion for restoring old cars, especially his late fathers’ 1947 Lincoln Continental. Those who knew Dave know he was the life of the party and quite the jokester. He was always one step ahead when it came to pranks and stirring the pot! That up to no good grin of his will surely be missed.

He is predeceased by his parents, Dick and Dona Cooke and older brother, Richard (Buzz) Cooke.

Dave is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marsha Pizio Cooke; sons, Jeff (Rebecca) and Chris (Kayla); three grandchildren, Ashlan Cooke 14, Brayden Murphy 9, and Emma Cooke 4 months; brother in law, David Pizio; sister in law, Doris Pizio; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be Saturday, May 15th from 11am-1pm at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E Genesee St., Fayetteville, NY 13066. The Funeral service will follow. Burial will be at White Chapel Memory Gardens in DeWitt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help those who are hearing impaired at: Hearstrong, PO Box 377, Syracuse, NY 13214 or Foundation for Upstate Medical University, 750 E. Adams St., CAB 326, Syracuse, NY 13210, for the wonderful care they provided to Dave and Chris in 2020.
