Obituary for Dennis J. LaHood
Dennis J. LaHood, 73, of Fayetteville, NY & Ft. Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2019. He is survived by his life partner, Deborah A. Lerro; daughters, Michele Germain and Laurie Hammond; grandchildren, Paul and Chloe Germain, Karly and Robert Hammond; Debbie’s children, Jeff and Sarah Lerro, Brian and Lindsay Lerro; and grandchildren, Kate, Clayton, Rex and Cal Lerro. Dennis is also survived by three siblings, Mickey LaHood, Salem (Glenda) LaHood, and Polly (Chris) Nolan.
Dennis worked 34 years for Agway Inc., retiring in 2000 as the Vice President of Agway and the President of Agway’s Country Product Group. During his tenure with Agway, he served on the Board of the Boy Power Annual Fundraising Drive.
Dennis thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years with Debbie. Together they shared an active social life with many close friends both in the Syracuse area and in Florida. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, golfing, watching SU sports and the Boston Red Sox. Every year he looked forward to wintering in Florida.
He was predeceased by his wife, Florence Masi LaHood (1998); and his parents, Herbie and Joyce LaHood.
Per his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held for immediate family at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel.
