Doris Knapp Jones, 81, was surrounded by her loving children on January 16, 2022, when the Lord reached out his hand and called her home to him.

     Left to cherish her memory are her children, Virginia Jones (Ronald Heffernan), Jeffery (Michelle) Jones, Elizabeth (Kevin) Lang, and Adam (Carli) Capria; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Knapp, Norma Knapp, Margaret Cook, and Clare  (Bill) Newman; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

     Doris is reunited on this journey with her parents, Oliver and Laura (Senglaub) Knapp; daughter, Laura Jones; brothers, Robert Knapp, Donald Knapp, Richard Knapp and Francis Knapp; and sister-in-law and best friend Sally Potter.

     After retirement from a long career at Thermold, Doris enjoyed caring and providing comfort for the elderly in their homes.

     Doris will be remembered for her beautiful smile and high spirit as well as her love of Syracuse University basketball, the warm weather, sunshine and the beach. Friends and family always were welcomed and her home was a favorite gathering place loved by all.

     Doris’ greatest love was for her children and they all knew that wherever they walked her love walked with them.

     Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 19th at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.  The funeral will follow the calling hours.
