Dorothy (Dot, Dottie) Louise Ferlow of Cazenovia, NY passed away on January 18, 2020. She was born on August 10, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY. She attended Syracuse University as a Microbiology major, graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She met Donald Ferlow, her now husband of 62 years, through the Lutheran Campus Ministry, when she asked him to play the piano. They were married on June 23, 1957. She followed Donald through his navy career. When that was completed, they moved briefly to Syracuse and then down to Stamford Connecticut. In Stamford they began a consulting business that became Environmental Design Associates. Donald was the idea man and Dorothy kept the business together. She was the Chief Financial Officer and Business Manager of the company.

Dorothy raised 3 smart and rambunctious children. She was devoted to their education and helped as a volunteer in their schools.
In 1991, Donald and Dorothy decided to remove themselves from the bustle of the metropolitan NY area and moved to Cazenovia NY. They joined Good Shepard Lutheran Church where they active with the garden and landscaping. Dorothy was the Treasurer of the church for 14 years. They set down roots in Cazenovia and central New York. When it came time to downsize, they built a smaller home in Cazenovia so they could remain in the community.

Dorothy and Donald spent a lot of time in the Adirondacks where they had a family cabin. This was the meeting place of the family and extended family during the summers. Many happy memories were made at the cabin.

She is survived by her husband, Donald, her sister Evelyn Wooding, her 3 children Nancy (Jon Shapiro) Ferlow, Jeanne (Charles) Bronner, and James (Judilynn) Ferlow, and 5 grandchildren Alex, Emma, Cody, Nick and Michaela. She will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Lutheran Campus Ministries at Hendricks Chapel, Syracuse University, Room 003, Syracuse, NY 13244-1110
