Dorothy Mayer Heaney, 94, of Manlius passed away peacefully in NC after attending her granddaughter’s wedding and meeting her great-grandson.  Born in Syracuse, Dorothy graduated from the Convent School and Powelson Business School.  She worked as a medical secretary.  After meeting the love of her life, she embraced the role of homemaker and mother. Dorothy was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville.  She was a member of the Manlius Senior Center and enjoyed bowling, NASCAR, knitting, playing cards, and corn hole.

     She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; and sisters, Marie Ferris and Rita Mayer.

     She is survived by her son, Timothy (Bonnie) Heaney of Louisburg, NC; daughter, Margaret (William) LaMarsh of Yorktown, VA; grandchildren, Amy (Michael) McCaskill, Alicia (Timothy) Babiasz, Elizabeth (Nickolas) Urpí, Katherine (Robert) Boland; four great-grandchildren, Miles and Millicent McCaskill, Adela and Philip Babiasz; sister, Rosemary Fatcheric of Bregen, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

     Family and friends may call from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.  The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt.
