Obituary for Dorothy V. Natale Tufankjian

Dorothy Natale Tufankjian, formerly of DeWitt,  passed away on Sunday, August 18th, in Fort Myers, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 88. She was the daughter of Eldora & Stanley Valenti. 

Dorothy worked for many years as a jewelry buyer at Wilsons & Sibleys. Her most proud accomplishment though was the raising of her 3 children.

Dorothy was a communicant of Holy Cross Church and member of Daughters of Columbus, Toastmistresses, Red Hatters & Nottingham Knolls. 

Dorothy had a zest for life & a passion for people. She loved to sing & often spontaneously  entertained her family & friends at gatherings. She had a special flair for fashion.

Dorothy is predeceased by her daughter, Aurora Palmiere; first husband, Roland Natale; second husband, Edward Tufankjian; brothers, Frank, Richard and Robert Valenti; and step-daughter, Diane Tufankjian.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna (Richard) O'Neil; son, Greg (Lynn Brugler) Natale; brother, George (Patti) Valenti; son-in-law, James Palmiere; step-children, Susan (Joe) Filiatrault, Sheila (John) Kresse; grandchildren, Natalie & Patrick Palmiere; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth & Alysa Parsons; and several nieces & nephews. A special thank you to her aide, Biby.

Family & friends may call on Monday from 10:00-noon, followed by a service at noon at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Dewitt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
