Edward P. Burleigh, 72, of East Syracuse died after a lengthy illness. He was born in Canastota, the son of Edna and Henry Burleigh. He worked at Monarch Liquor for many years and then for Agway. He loved traveling to Florida and Vegas. Ed was an avid NASCAR fan, his favorite racer was Dale Earnheart. He loved his daughter’s cooking, especially Thanksgiving dinner; working on his car with his son; and was proud of his grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, George Mantel.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol; son, Ed Jr. of Chittenango; daughter, Jillian (Scott) Crowningshield of Binghamton; five grandchildren, Jacob, Gabrielle, Brooke, Dan and Chelsea; and brother, Henry (Shirley) of Baldwinsville.
Family and friends may call from 10 am to Noon on Monday, October 21 at R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd., Minoa. The service will follow the calling hours. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery in North Manlius.
