Obituary for Edward B. Scharoun

Edward B. Scharoun, 96, of Fayetteville died peacefully at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was born in Syracuse. He was a Major in the US Air Force and served in England during WWII. After serving in the Air Force he attended Syracuse University and the University of Pittsburgh. Then he worked as an engineer for the New York Telephone Co. until his retirement. Following active duty he served and retired from the Air Force Reserve.

He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville and was active in the Down Syndrome Community.

He was predeceased by his wife, Emma Scharoun.

He is survived by his children, Pam (Tom) Abbamont and Eric Scharoun; and two grandchildren, Tommy and Catherine.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville.
