Joyce Hinkle passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Francis House on January 7, 2023.

     She was born to Andrew and Grace Johnson in Syracuse. Joyce attended Cathedral Academy and later married Robert Hinkle Sr. in 1958. She worked for O’Brien & Gere for many years. Joyce enjoyed going to the casino, creating rosaries, and most importantly, spending time with family.

     She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Robert, Sr.; sister, Rita Grover; and brothers, William, Sr. and Edward Johnson.

     She is survived by her daughter, Teri Hinkle and son, Robert, Jr (Debbie);  grandchildren, Andrew Hinkle and Kristina Hinkle; sisters, Ruth Johnson and Penny (John) Keeler;  brothers, Lee and Howard Johnson; a brother-in-law, Thomas Grover, Sr; sister-in-law, Lois Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

     Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s name to The Francis House, 108 Michaels Avenue, Syracuse, New York  13208.

     Family and friends may call from 5-7PM on Thursday January 12 at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 East Genesee Street, Fayetteville, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 13  at 11 AM at Holy Cross Church, 4112 East Genesee Street, DeWitt, NY. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
