Obituary for Frank Falso Jr.

Frank Falso, Jr. of East Syracuse, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away on January 26, 2019 at the age of 99.

He was born in Syracuse in 1919 to Francesco and Maria (Cioffi) Falso. After graduating from Eastwood High School, he went to work in the family sheet metal business and then enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1945. After serving honorably, he married, raised his own family, and worked until his very last days at Falso Air-Trol Corp. He and his brother, Frederick, operated this company as the descendant of the original Falso Tin Shop, owned by their father. The two were also active in land development and home building and previously were owners of Onondaga Hardware and Salt City Construction Co.

Frank lived a life of honor, hard work, generosity, and dedication to his family. He enjoyed fishing, spending time at his camp in the Adirondacks, reading, listening to country music, and quietly but whole-heartedly helping out a family member with any project or problem that required wise assistance or compassionate support. He was admired and loved by all - friends, tradespeople and family alike - and will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret (Ortado) Falso in 2013; as well as brothers, Armando, Adolph, Frederick and Raymond Falso; and sisters, Rose Schiavi and Philomena Falso. His survivors include sons, Frank J. (Valerie) Falso and Christopher Falso; daughter, Carolyn (Nicholas) Cifra; grandchildren, Andrew Falso, Timothy (Meredith) Falso and Nicole Cifra; great-grandchildren, Anthony Falso, Timothy Falso and Aurora Falso; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Frank’s wishes, services were private.
