Obituary for Gregory "Uncle Buck" Wilber

Gregory V. “Uncle Buck” Wilber, 68, of DeWitt passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. He graduated from Jamesville-DeWitt High School in 1969 where he excelled in football and was the mighty powerful owner of #19. He was co-owner of Wilber’s Motors in Tupper Lake where he acquired a great love for the Adirondacks. Greg was widely respected for his honesty, integrity, loyalty and talent in the automotive industry for over 50 years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved animals, especially his dogs. Everyone who met Greg loved him and his sense of humor, he will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Lynn; he was very proud of his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Jennifer Wilber of DeWitt; his adored grandchildren, Alyssa and Nathan Wilber; sister, Pam (Robert) Gibson of Charleston Lake, Ontario, Canada; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pam and George Mould of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; several nieces and nephews; and a younger brother and sister.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 23 at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.

A celebration of Buck’s life will be held at a later date when restrictions are lifted.
