Obituary for Henry J. Abbott Sr.
Henry J. “Hank” Abbott, Sr., 91, of Minoa, passed away at home on Saturday. He was born in Syracuse and graduated from Assumption High School. Hank retired from the Syracuse Police Department and then from Niagara Mohawk. He was a life member of the Minoa Fire Department having served as Assistant Chief. Hank was predeceased by his wife Jean and sister Caroline Birchmeyer.
He is survived by his children, Henry Jr. (Peg), Mary Lou (Jim) Champlin, Terry, Larry (Kathy), Pat (Sharon), Sharon, John (Jen), David, Joe (Stacey), Mike (Laura) and Rob; sister, Mary Bush; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately by the family and burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Minoa.
