Obituary for Howard A. Kallusch Jr.

Howard A. Kallusch, Jr., 76, passed away on Sunday, February 28 in Florida.

Born August 17, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Howard A. & Emily Walsh Kallusch. He was the grandson of Howard John Fredrick & Jeanette Cameron Kallusch and James Eli & Julia Richards Walsh.

Mr. Kallusch graduated from Cazenovia High School in 1962 and the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1966. After being honorably discharged from the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant, he attended Syracuse University College of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1972.

Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Kallusch went into private practice of law with his father, and they had offices in DeWitt, New York. After over thirty years of law practice, he retired to Cape Canaveral, Florida where he bought an apartment complex which he managed for many years.

Mr. Kallusch was admitted to practice law in New York and Florida and belonged to the Onondaga County Bar Association, the New York Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association. From 1976 to approximately 1985 he was legislative counsel to the Honorable Hy Miller of the New York State Assembly. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Syracuse YMCA, the Onondaga Ski Club, the Onondaga County Bar Association, Oakwood Cemeteries of Syracuse, and the Marjorie D. Kienzle Foundation Inc.

Mr. Kallusch enjoyed playing golf with his friends in Florida at the Cocoa Beach Country Club. He formerly belonged to the Cazenovia Country Club and the Calvary Club.

Surviving are his daughters, Katherine Elizabeth Kallusch and Kristen Kallusch Giles and her husband Keith; and granddaughters, Emily and Daisy.

A private service will be held. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens in DeWitt, New York.
