Obituary for Ida Santa Damesimo

Ida Santa Battle Damesimo, 90, of Fayetteville, formerly of Hobe Sound, FL, passed away peacefully at Menorah Park. She was born in Syracuse and grew up on the Northside. She started as a floral designer at age 16 at Markowicz Florist and worked at Wescott Florist and Salamino’s Florist in Syracuse and Country Club Florist in Hobe Sound, FL.

Ida was a member of the Xi Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the American Legion Auxiliary in Florida. She enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining family and friends, and golf.

She is survived by her children, Laurie Zirilli of Chittenango and Armand Damesimo of Homosassa, FL; sister, Anita Baroni of California; grandchildren, Peter, Teresa, Alise and Anthony; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Armando Damesimo; a sister and three brothers.

Family and friends may call from 9-10 am on Friday, August 9 at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. The funeral mass will follow the calling hour. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
