Obituary for James E. Raynor

James E. Raynor, 89, of Minoa died unexpectedly on January 1, 2020. He was born in Syracuse and graduated from Minoa High School. He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1954. He retired from Conrail as a clerk after 44 years. He volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 25 years and at the Minoa Nursing Home. He loved softball, hunting, fishing, golf and birds. He was an avid Red Sox and Syracuse sports fan.

He is survived by his children, Sharon Day (Alan), Bill Raynor (Cindy), Jackie Brennan (Jeff Middleton), Kevin Raynor (Joni), Bob Raynor (Robin), Mary Frigon (Earl) and Tim Raynor (Suzanne Rakes); eighteen grandchildren; and thirty-five great-grandchildren; brother, Bradley Raynor (Grace); and Elizabeth Raynor.

He was predeceased by his parents Helen and William Raynor and brother, Bill Raynor.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday January 9, 2020 at the R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd., Minoa. The service will follow the calling hours. Private burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Minoa.
