Obituary for Joan M. Murphy
Joan M. (Brockman) Murphy, 90, passed away on December 16th. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Arthur and Marie Brockman. Joan resided most recently in Glen Allen, Virginia, but lived in Fayetteville for 50 years.
Joan was active at Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville and served as the President of the IC Home & School Association. She enjoyed raising her 4 sons and being involved with all their activities. Later in life she enjoyed making memories with her grandchildren and great-grandson. Joan loved walking, water aerobics, playing golf and summer pool time with her friends at Kimry Moor.
She is predeceased by her parents and her husband of 67 years, Joe.
She is survived by her four sons, Tim (Sue), Kevin (Jean), Don (MaryAnn) and Mike (Kathy); seven grandchildren, Dan, Kelly (Alex) Turowski, Pat (fiancé Taylor), Danielle, Matthew, Kayla and Brian; great-grandson, Bennett Turowski, sister-in-law, Vange; nephew, Jack; nieces, Diane, Patty; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
Family and friends may call from 9:00 - 10:00 am on Monday, December 28th at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs Rd, Fayetteville. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am and may be viewed live at https://icfayetteville.org/funerals/
Burial will be in IC Cemetery in Fayetteville.
