John S. Cornell Jr., 88, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully. He was born in Saratoga, NY the son of the late John and Margaret Cornell. After graduating from Syracuse University School of Forestry he proudly served in the United States Navy.

He worked with Western Electric as a Senior Manager for 29 years. He was a member of DeWitt Community Church, Alumni Board President of New York Alpha Chapter Sigma Phi Epsilon.

John enjoyed wintering in Florida with his wife and son Robert, golfing, reading and his 4 o’clock cocktail.
He is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Pericola) of 53 years; sister Joan Winzler; brother, Walter Cornell. John is survived by; daughters, Anne (Steven) Culhane, Kristin (Billy Paradise) Cornell; sons, John S. (Lauren Caudel) Cornell III, Robert Cornell; sister-in–law, Beverly (Philip) Brown; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Davis and Shannon Culhane, Curtis, Brittany (Steven) Mills and Autumn Cornell; great-grandchildren, Charlie Cornell, Everly Mills, Eva Cornell; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be January 11 at 12:00 p.m. at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St. Fayetteville.
