Obituary for Joseph E. Cashier

After a incredibly vivid, much too short life, Joseph E. Cashier peacefully left us on Friday. Joe loved nothing more than spending time with the love of his life, Lisa, traveling the world and enjoying life’s adventurers. An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, Joe loved spending the day on the water and cooking his catch for family and friends. His favorite places to fish were Alaska, Saint Simon's Island, GA and Oneida Lake. He had many friends whom he loved to spend time with; events and outings were just a bit more fun when Joe was around. As a lifelong athlete, being physically fit was an important part of Joe’s life.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 14 years, Lisa Tokar; his sisters, Jody (Tony) Willis of Jacksonville, FL, Gina Cashier of LaFayette and Jaime Cashier of Albany; his brother, John (Cathy) Cashier of Jamesville; sisters-in-law, Terri Tokar of Austin, TX and Jodi (Brian) Gallagher of Atlanta, GA.; nieces, Reghan (Mark) Worden, goddaughter and niece, Olivia Botelho, Elizabeth Santaferra; and nephew, Joel Cashier.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The National Fish & Wildlife Foundation, 1133 15th St. NW, Suite 1000, Washington, DC 20005.
