June Mary Mann, 95, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2021.
June was born in Syracuse on June 20, 1925 and lived in the Syracuse area her entire life. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 73 years, Charles, who died in 2020.
June was extremely busy and energetic throughout her life, volunteering for numerous organizations, such as the PTA and mother’s clubs of various Syracuse city schools and acting as secretary for her golf and bowling leagues. She also participated in a number of political and civic organizations. June was a long-time member of Rockefeller Church in Syracuse and was involved in many church activities and fundraisers.
June loved gardening and all kinds of sports and had a special fondness for animals, adopting many dogs and cats over the years. She enjoyed traveling and visited many areas of the United States on extended road trips with Charlie or on visits to her children and grandchildren. She also visited England (where her mother was born and raised and where she had many relatives) as well as Canada, China, Korea, Taiwan, Egypt and Israel.
June was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her quick wit, dedication to her family and her kindness. She had three children, Keith (Lori), Kent (Mary) and Ted (Yan-ju); three grandchildren, Katherine (Adam), Douglas (Grace), and Ashlea (Andrew); and two great-grandchildren, Calvin and Mae.
Family and friends may call from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, April 11 at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. Burial will be 10 am on Monday, April 12 at White Chapel Memory Gardens in DeWitt.
