Obituary for Kenneth "Dave" Allen

Kenneth “Dave” Allen, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, joining his wife of 68 years, Carolyn, who died on May 6, 2020. He was born in Syracuse, the son of Kenneth F. and Elizbeth H. Allen. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1952. Dave served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was the owner of Allen Sealing Company in Syracuse.

He was a 60 year member of DeWitt Community Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Tigris Shrine and the Korean War Veterans of CNY Chapter. While raising his family, he was active in Boy Scouts and Little League. Dave was an active musician and often played Taps at community events and services.

He is survived by his cherished dog, Penny; children, Karen Failoni of Syracuse, Christopher (Linda) of Liverpool and Susan (Bob) Allen-Eighmey of Minoa; five grandchildren, Christopher Eighmey, Alyssa Eighmey, Michael Failoni, Leigha Allen and Christie Allen; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Eighmey.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Suzanne Metz and his son-in-law, Mark D. Failoni.

A memorial service for Carolyn and Dave will be held at DeWitt Community Church at a later date.
