Obituary for Kent J. Hofer

Kent Joseph Hofer, 77, passed away August 17, 2020 at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville, NY. Born in Syracuse, NY on November 2, 1942, he was the son of Hazel and Charles Hofer.

Kent graduated from FM Schools and worked in the grocery business until he was drafted in the Army in 1966. He served his country as an MP in Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge, he started working in the insurance business, eventually owning his own agency, Hurst-Hofer, until he retired in 2005.

Kent leaves behind his brother, Jim (Mary) Hofer of Cazenovia, NY; nieces, Mary Ellen Witchley and Bonnie (Gordon) Miller; nephews, Charles (Kelly) Hofer and Brian (Becky) Hofer.

He is predeceased by his parents; brother, Charles; and niece, Patty Pitcher.

Kent was a loving and caring man with many friends. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and socializing.

Kent’s family wants to thank the caring team of hard workers at Crouse Community Center for taking the best care of him possible.

Due to COVID 19, there will be no calling hours.
