Obituary for Lita A. Grannell

Lita Angela Grannell, 88, of North Syracuse, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on October 14th at 6:24 pm with her daughter, son and daughter-in-law by her side. She was a gentle soul who taught her family about compassion and love. Lita was a lover of her family and animals. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and member of the Catholic Church.

Lita was born November 23, 1931 in Newark, NJ, the daughter of Demetrio and Angela Lopez of Ponce, Puerto Rico. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Caldwell and attended studies at New York City American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She was a mezzo-soprano, scholarship singing student for the Preservation of Sacred, Patriotic and Operatic Music and was chosen to participate in the Ensemble Chorale Society concert given at Carnegie Hall in New York.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William E. Grannell.

She is survived by her son Garard D. (Francine); daughter, Vanna Reisman (Daniel); and her five grandchildren, Rachael, Christian, Joseph, Seth and Sara.

Services were private with burial at Fayetteville Cemetery.
