Marjorie A. Reif, 66, passed away after a brief illness on July 29, 2019 at Francis House in Syracuse. Marge was born in Cortland, NY and lived in Manlius for 55 years. She graduated from Utica College with a B.S.N. and retired from Community General Hospital after 44 years as a maternity nurse. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Parish in Manlius.
Marge enjoyed growing flowers, taking nature walks, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She always put others’ needs ahead of her own.
She was predeceased by her father, Richard Reif and sister-in-law, Margaret Reif.
Marge is survived by her mother, Shirley Reif of Manlius; sister, Ellen Frith (Michael) of Livonia, MI; brothers, Thomas Reif of Shaftsbury, VT, Edward Reif (Marilynn) of Pittsford, NY, Stephen Reif (Nancy) of Venice, FL; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
A special thanks to the nurses on 10E at Upstate University Hospital, the staff and volunteers at Francis House, and to Dianna Nicholas, Theresa Eddins, and Linda Owen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Saturday, August 3 at St. Ann’s Church, 104 Academy Street, Manlius. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Cortland at the convenience of the family.
