Obituary for Mark T. Harrington
Mark T. Harrington, 59, of Jamesville passed peacefully surrounded by his family. Mark was born in Clinton, Iowa, and spent his early childhood years in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In the fourth grade, he moved to Fayetteville, New York where he met his lifelong friends. After graduating from Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Mark attended Ithaca College where he met his best friend and wife, Sharon. After a few years in sales and marketing, Mark decided to pursue a law degree at Western New England University. He was licensed in Massachusetts and New York, and started his career in Cazenovia. He then took a position at Mackenzie Hughes LLP where he was an attorney for 26 years. There was no position or responsibility that Mark refused. At Mackenzie Hughes, he was on the Executive Committee and was responsible for the Corporate Department. Mark was also very active in the local community, where he served as President of the Board of ARC of Onondaga, and sat on the Boards of: The Century Club and the Crouse Foundation. He was so grateful for his clients and colleagues throughout the community.
Mark was a terrific skier, average golfer, and enjoyed many nights of pool, cigars, and music with his friends. He had a strong interest in the Beatles, the Kennedy’s, Elvis Presley, and was a big fan of the Todd Hobin Band.
Mark is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon Weiner Harrington; children, Samantha “Cake” Harrington (C.J. Siciliano) and John “Jack” Harrington; brothers, Donald Harrington, Jr. and Alan Harrington; a niece and nephews; many childhood friends; and his dog, Sophie “Soap Suds” and his grand-dog, Bronson “B-Man.” He was predeceased by his parents, Eleanore and Donald Harrington.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. The funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00 am on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Fayetteville.
