Obituary for Mary Adeline Keassa

Mary “Adeline” Keassa, 98, of Manlius, passed away Sunday evening, March 10, 2019 surrounded by her family.

Born on January 1, 1921 in Syracuse, she was the daughter of Michael and Julia Rybinski. She was a graduate of Manlius High School. Adeline was an office clerk and a sharp shooter for Prosperity. She opened Indian Hill Grocery, closing the store in spring of 1959, and she retired from P&C.

Adeline was very active in St. Ann’s Church in Manlius as a member of the Alter Rosery Society, various prayer groups and a devoted Christian. She donated her time to many other charitable organizations, including Meals on Wheels and the local food pantries. Adeline enjoyed bowling until she was 96, and she loved traveling and volunteering.

She is predeceased by her husband, William.

Surviving are her sons, Larry and Jack Keassa; sister, Elizabeth Byrne; brother, Matthew (Peggy) Rybinski; and countless nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday, March 14 from 5 to 7pm at the Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Road, Manlius. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am on Friday, March 15 at St. Ann’s Church, 104 Academy St., Manlius. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
