Obituary for Nancy A. Theoharis

Nancy Artinian Theoharis, born in Highland Park, Michigan and a longtime resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, died Saturday June 6 in Syracuse, NY, where she'd lived the past three years with her son George.

A committed Presbyterian and interfaith activist, she was a lifelong fighter for peace and equality—from ensuring the rights and health of children with UNICEF to land and freedom for Palestine to a more racially just Milwaukee and United States.  A lover of flowers, chocolate, sunsets, concerts, and her children and grandkids, her spirit of resistance joins the ancestors at a time when this country and world cry out for justice.

She is survived by her husband Athan, her siblings Susan and Jim, her children Jeanne, George, and Liz, and her grandchildren Sam, Ella, Sophia, and Luke. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Poor People's Campaign through the Kairos Center: https://kairoscenter.org/donate/
