Obituary for Norma Griswold

Norma Goodwin Griswold, 99, of Fayetteville, passed away July 16, 2019, one month shy of her 100th birthday. After a day surrounded by loving family and friends, Norma slipped away peacefully. She was born on August 26, 1919 in Jersey City, NJ to Louise and Persons Goodwin. On February 9, 1946 she married G. Alan Griswold. They shared many wonderful years together with their three daughters, including many moves. Wherever they made home, finding a church family was a priority. Norma was a kind, loving mentor, teacher and great friend. In addition, she had many talents: knitting, sewing, crocheting and baking, always with someone in mind.

Norma was predeceased by her husband; daughter, Barbara; her parents; two sisters; and sons-in-law, Richard Minard and John Schucker.

She is survived by daughters, Patricia Schucker (Rick Stein), Susan Minard; grandchildren, Carrie (Ben) Pattison, Kelly (James) Kristjansen, Laurie (Martin) Reinhold, Jeffrey (Daniela Labriola) Minard; great-grandchildren, Ava Pattison, Jack, Dylan, and Alexander Reinhold; nieces and nephews.

Norma’s life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Eastern Hills Bible Church, 8277 Cazenovia Rd., Manlius. Burial will be private.
