Obituary for Pearl Deshaies

Pearl M. Deshaies, 81, of Kirkville, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

Born in Norfolk on January 30, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethyl Queor.

Pearl was raised by nuns in a catholic orphanage until she as 17 in Ogdensburg.

She was proud of her heritage and married a marine, making her the sweet, fierce and spunky person that she was throughout her life. Being a caregiver of 40 years, she retired at 70 and was a home health caregiver until she was 80 years old.

Reaching for everything she wanted in the most selfless way possible, she was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was always giving of herself to others.

She loved her card games, baking and cooking for her family.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Catherine, Bill, Bob, Myrtle, Viola, and Violet; and grandson, Derek Deshaies.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Jack Deshaies; children, Tim (Connie) Deshaies, Brenda (David) Thompson, Theresa (Marc) Weigner and Marcel (Ellen) Deshaies; grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua, Michael, Richard, Helen, Chelsea, Chance, Peter, Shannon, Samantha, Danielle David, Brandon, Steven, Willa and Oscar; great grandchildren, Travis, Dillon, Helena, Abbygail, Jonathan, Charlotte, Destannie, Nolen, and Kailey; sister, Effie Marie; brother, Edward (Susan) Mayville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 5 from 9 to 10:30 am at R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepps Corners Road, Minoa. A Rite of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at St. Mary’s Church, Minoa. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Minoa.
