Obituary for Richard T. Goode

Richard T. Goode, 90 of Fayetteville passed away at home surrounded by his family. He graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1948 where he excelled and lettered in football, baseball and basketball, and attended LeMoyne College. He served in the US Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Germany with the Army of occupation. His work career began with Goode Bros. Wholesale Grocers, Town of DeWitt Highway Department for 20 years, Arrowhead Golf Course and Big4 Tire.

He was a member of Arrowhead Golf Course, Woodcrest Golf Course, Syra Canadian Fish & Game Club, Tom, Dick & Jerry Club, and Immaculate Conception Church. He was an avid SU fan.

If you met Dick, you would never forget him and he never forgot a face.

He was predeceased by his parents, John & Margaret Stack Goode; brothers, John, William and Jerome Goode; and sister, Margaret Durgey.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Susan Cain Goode; children, Thomas (Karen) Goode, Margaret (Michael) Williams, Jennifer (Phillip) Colla and Patrick (Kelly) Goode; grandchildren, Katie Williams, Michael (Shannon) Williams, Cain Goode, Cole Goode, Nicholas Colla, Natalie Colla, Emily Goode, Jeremy Thomas, Shannon Goode and John Goode; great-grandchildren, Emma Marks, Abigail and Scarlett Thomas; brother-in-law, Paul Durgey; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Erlebacher and nurse, Vinnie of Crouse Medical Internist.

Services and burial will be private.
