Obituary for Robert "Duffy" DeRochie

     Robert Leo “Duffy” DeRochie, 88, of Manlius NY, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022 at his home with family by his side.  Born on June 27, 1934 in Fort Covington NY, he graduated from Fort Covington High School.  He resided in Manlius NY for the past 64 years.  Duffy worked for the Ironworkers Local Union 60 until his retirement in 1996.  He served in US Army during the Korean Conflict.  His big heart, generous spirit and love of family and friends will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.  Duffy enjoyed the NYS State Fair as well as snowmobiling, hunting, boating and all motor sports.

     He is pre-deceased by his parents Leo A DeRochie and Lucy (Denio) and beloved wife of 54 years, Louise “Lulu” DeRochie.  Duffy is survived by his three sisters, Dolores Stone, Sue Bauer and Victoria Kirkey; three daughters, Sylvie (David deceased) Ennis, Johanne (Tom) Hyatt and Christine Collier, all residing in the Syracuse area; son, Robert L. DeRochie Jr. (Maria) of College Grove, TN; 10 grandchildren, Wayne (Layla) and Whitney Ennis; Austin, Amber and Adam Hyatt; Michael, Meagan and Robert Collier and Alex and Abby DeRochie; niece and nephews.

     Calling hours will be Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 5-8 pm at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 East Genesee Street, Fayetteville, NY.
