Obituary for Robert S. White Jr.
Robert S. White, Jr., 79, of Jamesville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Bob was born in Sewickley, PA in 1941 to Robert S. White, Sr. and Elizabeth (Dickson) White.
Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda (nee Keeler); daughter, Laurie (Travis); grandchildren, Pearle Helen and Lyle Charles; and cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Laurie Keeler.
Bob grew up in Mars, PA and met Linda on Christmas Eve of 1970. He proposed one year later to the day and they were married on May 6, 1972 in Cranberry Township, PA.
Bob was retired from the engineering department of News Channel 9 in Syracuse, where he worked for over 40 years.
Bob’s longtime daily ritual included an early morning breakfast at a local diner, where he would read the newspaper and race against his good friend to be the first to complete the daily Jumble word puzzle.
A ham radio operator since 1956, Bob was known by his callsign W2BBX.
Private services will be held.
