Obituary for Ruth F. Bruce
Ruth Flattery Bruce, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday April 16th after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born in Syracuse, NY in 1943 to the late Alan Jared and Katherine (Federer) Flattery, she was raised in Fabius, NY and attended Fabius Central School, The Mary Burnham School in Northhampton, MA and Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Retail Management.
Ruth worked as a Vice President/Divisional Merchandise Manager for Dey Brothers and went on to have a successful career as a Sales Rep for a Multi-line gift sales manufacturer. In her downtime, she enjoyed gardening, arts & crafts, sewing, and cooking. With her love of fashion and larger than life personality, she touched all those around her with her classy, caring and warm personality.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, David Bruce of Jamesville, NY; brother, John (Sandra) Flattery of Sun Valley, ID; and 8 nieces and nephews.
She will be laid to rest next to her parents in Evergreen Cemetery, Fabius, NY.
