Ruth M. Lucia, 94, of Manlius, NY, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born on April 21, 1928 to Paul and Helen (Warner) Zong in Lewistown, PA. After being orphaned at age 11, she was raised in White Plains, NY by her aunt and uncle, Charles and Ruth (Zong) Eberhardt. She attended White Plains High School and New York University, graduating with a degree in Physical Education.

Ruth married Philip J. Lucia on May 17, 1952. She was welcomed and loved as a daughter by Pasquale and Winifred (McGuinn) Lucia and as a best friend and sister by Marie (Lucia) Pace.

     Ruth was a teacher and a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a devout member of St. Ann’s Church in Manlius.

     She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Philip; and her three children, Maria Lucia, Patrick Lucia, Wendy Lucia-Bennett; and her four grandsons, Eric and Paul Billinson, Philip and Bobby Bennett.

     In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, services will be private.

     Ruth will be missed by every person that was lucky enough to have been touched by her love and friendship.
