Obituary for Stephen R. Hackett
Stephen R. Hackett, 72, of Fayetteville, passed away at home on August 1, 2019.
Born in Wooster, OH on December 29, 1946, he was the son of William and Lois Hackett. He was a graduate of Waynedale High School, Class of 1964 and Ohio State University. Stephen served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially trips to the Adirondacks and Bar Harbor, Maine, golfing, cooking, OSU and SU sports. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America for many years. But what Stephen loved most was spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Hackett and sister, Sandra Garcia.
Surviving are his children, Lauren Hackett and Chad (Kara) Hackett; grandson, Ethan Hackett; sister, Louise (William) Taillon; brother-in-law, Serafin Garcia; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be August 8 from 4 to 7pm at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. A funeral service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home.
