Obituary for Stewart L. Sherman

Stewart L. Sherman, 84, of Manlius passed away peacefully at Crouse Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Albany, NY, grew up in Milford, NY and graduated from Cornell University. He worked for 4H and taught school in Oxford, NY before moving to the Fayetteville-Manlius area. He taught Science at Jamesville-DeWitt Middle School.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Fayetteville and sang many years in the choir. He also sang with the Opera Company and Syracuse Chorale, where he met his wife Cindy. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed his yard and nature.

He is survived by his wife Cindy; children, Marilyn (Bill) Kroeker, Karen (Bill) Nowicki and Joanne (Herb) Dohr; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother Donald Sherman.

He was predeceased by his elder brother, Gilbert.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 1st at the United Methodist Church of Fayetteville, 601 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. The family will greet family and friends following the service.
