Thomas Frederick Ager, 89, of Fayetteville died peacefully at home on Sunday. Born in Syracuse, he was a resident of the Fayetteville and Kirkville areas. Tom graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1950 and Utica Tech College in 1952. Following school he served in the Army during the Korean War.
He retired in 1986 from John Deere Co. as a Complete Goods Manager after 30 years.
He was a member of the Wa-Noa Golf Course, Cazenovia Country Club, parishioner of Community Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, calligraphy and photography. Tom was an avid SU sports fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine in 2001; three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna A. (Thomas) Kiselica of Erieville and Dawn R. (Lawrence) Wilcox of Kirkville; two sons, Frederick W. (Kathy) Ager of Canastota and Daniel T. (Constance) Ager of Baldwinsville; nine grandchildren, Thomas Kiselica, Andrew Kiselica, Dana Kiselica, Abigail Elaine Wilcox, Lisa Marie Ager, Matthew Robert Ager, Nicole Schavone, Daniel Ager and Jeremy Ager; five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Lincoln, Haley, Ryan and Hunter; brother, Gerald Ager of Sherrill; sister, Carol Witten of Chittenango; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, November 27th at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. The service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 28th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kirkville Cemetery.
