A caring, devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Thomas died suddenly on January 22, 2022, at age 62. Thomas was born on December 26, 1959 in Oneida, into a family of twelve children. He graduated from Oneida High School in 1978, where he played football and baseball. He attended The College at Brockport and received his undergraduate degree in accounting from SUNY at Cortland in 1984.
While Tom was working on his MBA from Niagara University, he worked concurrently at two fast-food companies to make ends meet. Upon his graduation, Tom worked in sales in Connecticut and New York while obtaining another Masters Degree. At the time of his death, he was employed at Avnet, Inc. for over 25 years as an account manager.
Tom and his wife of 27 years, Lisa, made their home in Syracuse and Sarasota, FL. Tom was an avid reader and student of history. He loved to exercise and enjoyed biking, running and kayaking. Most importantly, he loved visits from his adult children and he was an adoring Papi to his three grandchildren. He enjoyed a good laugh, baseball game, and beers with his brothers. He was an attentive listener and a sweet, kind, and genuine person.
In addition to his wife, Lisa (Hogan), Thomas leaves behind his step-children, Lindsay (Yannick Sanguiamba) Middleton and Travis (Lexie) Middleton; grandchildren, Nella Lisa Sanguiamba, Sofie Jane Middleton and Charley Jean Middleton; sisters, Christine K. (Joseph Joseph) Orcutt of Utica and Sarasota, FL, Barbara (Robert) Flores of Greenvalley, AZ, Patricia (Richard) Hubbard of Sarasota, FL, Maureen (Joseph) Marris of Buffalo, Gene E. (William Barley) Orcutt of Durhamville; brothers, Stephen J. (Ailton de Mendonca Filho) of Durhamville, NY and Sarasota, FL, Mark J. (Catherine) of Toronto, Ontario and Naples, FL and, Andrew W. (Maria) of Naples, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Tom is predeceased by his parents, John L. and Margaret P. Orcutt; his sisters, Roxanne T. Moore and Constance P. Orcutt; and a brother, John H. (Orcutt).
Calling hours will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday, January 28 at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St, Fayetteville. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Saturday, January 29 at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. The service will be live streamed at www.icfayetteville.org/funerals
