Obituary for Toni Marie McCormick

Toni Marie (Trunfio) McCormick, PsyD, age 69, of Manlius, died May 2, 2021 at home. Toni graduated from Whitesboro Central HS, received a Bachelors degree from SUNY Oswego, a Masters degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and her Doctorate from Virginia Consortium for Professional Psychology, Norfolk, VA.

She was a Clinical Psychologist in practice for 40 years in Anchorage, AK; Virginia Beach, VA; and since 1996 with Psychological HealthCare in Syracuse, NY.

She was a member of the American Psychological Association. Toni studied under Clarrisa Pinkola Estés and was a mentor for women exploring concepts developed by Estés in her seminal book Women Who Run With the Wolves. Toni loved experiencing new places and cultures and travelled extensively. She was an avid hiker, skier and snowshoer and loved the outdoors in all seasons.

Toni is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert McCormick, OD; her son Jesse of Brooklyn, NY; her sister and brother-in-law, Irene and George Kener of Marcy, NY; her aunts Jennie DiFiore and Rosalie Francis of Utica, NY; her uncle and aunt Michael and Maryanne Trunfio of New Hartford, NY and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Anthony N. and Sarah K. Trunfio of Utica, NY.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 6th from 4 to 7 pm at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E Genesee Street Fayetteville, NY.

A memorial gathering is being planned with time and location to be determined.
