Obituary for Virginia "Patty" L. Murdock
Virginia “Patty” Murdock, 84, of Manlius passed away, Thursday evening, December 5, 2019 with her daughter by her side.
Born in Syracuse on June 6, 1935, she was the daughter of the late David and Virginia Hunt. She was a graduate of Nottingham High School. Patty retired after many years from Chase Bank in Manlius.
She was a Christmas Mart Chair, vestry member and Warden of Christ Church of Manlius. Patty was a volunteer at Manlius Library and Meals on Wheels.
She is predeceased by her husband Edson
Surviving her is her cherished daughter and devoted son-in-law, Nancy and Tom Winiecki of Manlius; treasured granddaughters, Emily of Syracuse and Molly of Boston; sisters, Nancy Collin of Delaware, Susan (Scott) Murray of Marcellus, Sally (Harry) Hunt of South Carolina; brother David Hunt of Florida; and sister-in-law and special friend Beverly Murdock of Chittenango; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday, December 13, from 4 to 6pm at the Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Road, Manlius. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 14 at 10am at Christ Episcopal Church, Manlius. Burial will be in Manlius Village Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Christ Episcopal Church of Manlius, 407 E. Seneca St., Manlius, NY 13104.
