Obituary for William F. Fuegel

William F. Fuegel, 52, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, March 26, 2022, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Syracuse on August 6, 1969, he was the son of William and Nancy Fuegel. He was a graduate of ESM, Morrisville, RPI and received his Masters from Syracuse University.  William founded Fuegel Engineering in 2001, a small office with a client-focused approach to each and every project.  Bill sought and implemented unique solutions to challenging engineering projects.  He celebrated 20 years in business in August.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman, sportsman and steward of the land.

“The land” in Parish is where Bill built a cabin and barn, gardened, hunted and fulfilled his dream of having a camp.  He especially loved spending time in the Adirondacks with his family, camping, paddling and working towards hiking all 46 High Peaks.  He was a devoted father to his two children, Will and Lauren, whom he helped work towards their passions, including spending time in the garage working on automotive and carpentry projects, as well as pursuing music and travels. Together, with the help of his son and father, they restored a 1931 Ford Street Rod.

Bill loved listening to music, reading and discussing faith, politics and history.  Sunday dinner and games with his family and parents were a very important part of his life. He was a loving and kind, humble spirit who loved his family and friends more than anything.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Kim; children, Will and Lauren; parents, William and Nancy Fuegel; sisters, Donna (Pat) Hogan and Barbara (Bohdan) Demczar; mother-in-law, Linda (Marion) O’Neill; brother-in-law, Colin (Lisa) O’Neill; sister-in-law, Kerrie (Bryan) Carpenter; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, with an 11:30 AM service at Trinity Fellowship, 1235 Old Stonehouse Road, Jamesville, followed by a party at Al’s Wine and Whiskey Lounge, 321 S Clinton St, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to the Adirondack Mountain Club, ElevateHER Colorado, or Will Fuegel Music for an event in Bill’s honor.
