Obituary for William Livadas

William Livadas, of Chittenango, died Tuesday at home after a long and valiant fight with bladder cancer. Bill (affectionately known as Skip) was born in Syracuse, New York, and also resided in Pittsburgh, PA, Canastota, NY and Chittenango, NY. He attended Eastwood High School in Syracuse. He was a USMCR, 2nd Tank Battalion, Hancock Airport, Syracuse, NY. He worked at Carrier Corporation for 32 years as a Crane Operator and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association, Local 527.

Skip was an avid boater on Oneida Lake - sailing, cruising and canoeing. In 2000, he also was a student pilot of Seven Valley Aviation, Syracuse, NY where he flew a Cessna 172. Skip also loved visiting with family and friends as much as possible and his quick wit and humor will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. But by far, the most important thing in Skip’s life was to take care of his wife, Debbie, who he cherished and adored.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Deborah (Carter) Livadas; his grandchildren, Brian G. Livadas and Lisa P. Livadas both of Phoenix, AZ; great grandson, Derek Livadas; and several nieces and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Peter Livadas; his mother, Clara Wanda Golke Livadas; brothers, Gerald W. Livadas and Robert P. Livadas; and his beloved son, Gerald B. Livadas.

Services will be private. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens. There will be no calling hours.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY & of the Finger Lakes, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
