William M. Coyne, Jr., 84, of Chittenango, formerly of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2020. He graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy and attended Syracuse University. Bill was a self employed sign painter for most of his life.
Bill was a communicant and sang in the choir of St. Ann’s Church in Manlius. He was a member of the SPEBQSA and the Barbershop Harmony Society for 47 years. He sang in both chorus and quartets; directed the Limestone Harmonizers and the Syracuse Chapter; and sang in four church choirs. He enjoyed camping, fishing and basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Edith (Figie) Coyne; children, Peter, Paul, Steve (Cheryl), Barbara (Jim) Fuller, William III, James, and Ann Bingham; seven grandchildren, Bridgett, Kristin, Amanda, Beth, Susan, Samuel and Brianna; two great-grandchildren, Liliana and Grace; sisters, Elizabeth Rung and Patricia Cooney; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, William M. Sr. and Margaret (Lancer) Coyne; brother, Robert; and sister, Winifred Clay.
Family and friends may call from 11 am - 12 pm on Friday, February 14, 2020 at St. Ann’s Church, 104 Academy St., Manlius. The funeral Mass will follow at 12 pm. Burial will be private.
