Obituary for William G. Ray

William G. Ray passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse.
William was born and raised on the south side of Syracuse to his parents, George and Ruth Ray. He married his loving wife, Kathleen Ray, and together they raised two children, Andrew Ray and Anne Gorton.
William was a dedicated member of the Nortrip Lodge in Fayetteville, where he served as a Freemason for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Fayetteville United Methodist Church where he found great comfort and solace in his faith. In his spare time, William enjoyed watching dirt track racing, and he could often be found cheering on his favorite drivers at the local tracks.
He was also an avid animal lover and, along with his wife, was a member of Shih Tzus and Furbabies. Together they fostered small breed dogs; they fondly called their operation the Ray Kingdom, where they worked tirelessly to provide a loving home to dogs in need.
William was a hardworking man who dedicated 30 years of his life to working at the Carrier Corporation as a general line inspector. He took great pride in his work and was well-respected by his colleagues.
William will be deeply missed by his wife, Kathleen Ray; his children, Andrew Ray and Anne Gorton; and his grandchildren, Katt Carpenter and Braydon Ray.
     There will be no services.
