Obituary for Arlene B. Winans

Arlene B. Winans, of Manlius, passed into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, October 6th.
Arlene was born in Bridgeport, NY in 1921 and married her high school sweetheart, Edward Winans in 1941. After raising her children, Arlene graduated from Syracuse University in 1971 and went on to earn her masters degree in Social Work. She enjoyed a successful career in that field in both the public and private sectors.
A woman of strong faith, she and her husband were instrumental in the inception and construction of the existing Kirkville Community Wesleyan Church.
Arlene was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her son William in 2003 and by her husband, Edward in 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Robert) Julian of Fayetteville; her daughter-in-law, Beth Winans of Manlius; two grandchildren, Stefanie (Frank) Mento of Simpsonville, SC and William (Jennifer) Winans of Greenville, SC; as well as two great-grandchildren, Sofia and Eliza Mento.
Funeral services will be at the Kirkville Community Wesleyan Church on Monday, October 10th at 11 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kirkville Community Wesleyan Church, 7691 Bridgeport Kirkville Rd., Kirkville, NY 13082.
