Obituary for Jane McGregor

Jane McGregor

May 1, 2015

Jane McGregor 80, formerly of Fayetteville, NY died, May 1st in Auburn, NY after a brief illness. Jane was born in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Rice University. She leaves behind her son, Edward, and many dear friends. Jane was active in her community, donated blood as often as she could, worked the polls for elections and volunteered at her son’s school.
A lady of contradictions, she was a creative, free spirit with a deep respect for authority; a talented artist to whom many things came easily who mocked her craft; and the world's second most disorganized detail-oriented person.
She loved reading, being outside in nature, working at the Sterling Renaissance Fair as a craftsperson, commenting on the folly of humanity, ice cream, and the company of people of wit and heart -- even if they were silly enough to be philosophically at odds with her. Her dry sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her, and she looks forward to haunting all who opposed her in life.
Services will be private.
Contributions in Jane’s memory can be made for wild life rehab to either Sue-Ryn Hildenbrand-Burns 44027 Cross Island Rd Wellesley Island, NY 13640 {not tax deductible} or Jean Soparano of Kindred Kingdoms 211 Sutton Rd, Pennellville, NY 13132 { tax deductible). It would also be nice if you smiled at a crow for her.
