Obituary for Jane R. Engelbrecht

Jane R. Engelbrecht died at Iroquois Nursing Home with her family by her side. After raising her family, she graduated from nursing school and worked for many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital, followed by volunteer service at St. Joseph’s Northeast Surgery Center. She was a founding member of Birthright Counseling Service, a member of the Legion of Mary and St. Matthew’s Church.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, George C. Engelbrecht; parents, Clarence and Arlene Buckel; brother, Rev. Ronald Buckel; and infant son, George Charles Engelbrecht, Jr.
Surviving are her son, Karl (Patti) Engelbrecht; daughters, Teresa Engelbrecht, Sheila Gibbs, Joan (Michael) Dennis and Mary Beth (Martin) Dwyer; son, Daniel (Maria) Engelbrecht; fifteen grandchildren, Cheryl (Brandon) Sova, Kelly Engelbrecht and Brian (Ashley) Engelbrecht, Christine Fandrich, Denise Gibbs, Mark Gibbs, Jeffrey, Sharon and Kevin Dennis, Martin, Sarah, Clare and Alexander Dwyer, Daniella and Marisa Engelbrecht; two great grandchildren, Ashton and Avery Sova; brother, Thomas Buckel; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 3:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday, April 26th at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. Services will be at 10:15 am Monday, April 27th at the funeral home followed by a Requiem Mass offered at 11:00 am at St. Matthew’s Church in East Syracuse. Burial will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt.
