Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Virginia Black can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Virginia Black

Virginia Black passed away Wednesday, May 27th at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in New York City, she was a secretary at New York University before meeting and Marrying John J. Black. Virginia was a devoted wife and mother and a true friend. She was an avid gardener, a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Minoa, a member of the Parish Council, a religious ed teacher and a Right to Life member.
She was predeceased by her husband John J. Black in 1979.
She is survived by her children, James Black (Katie Meskell) of Port Chester, NY, Maureen (John) Bianchi of Florida, Denise (John) Felicia of LaFayette, John (Kathleen) Black of Florida and Kathleen Black-Byrnes of Rochester; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Lincks of Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, May 29th at St. Mary’s Church, 401 N. Main St., Minoa. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Minoa. Calling hours will be 2:00 to 4:00 pm Thursday, May 28th at R.H. Schepp & Son Minoa Chapel, 6530 Schepp’s Corners Rd., Minoa.
