Obituary for Robert G. Gehm

Robert G. Gehm, 89, of Syracuse died Friday, June 19, 2015. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, Robert also spent much of his retirement in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he loved his walks on the beach. Robert was an alumnus of Syracuse University and Nottingham High School and was retired from the Syracuse City School District.
He is survived by sons, David and Gerald (Renee), grandchildren, Julie (Nate) Overly and R. Scott Gehm, and his close friend, Charles Gallagher. Mr. Gehm was predeceased by his wife Susan Bell Gehm, parents George and Edna Gehm, in-laws Roy and Marjorie Chase Bell, and daughter-in-law Mary Ann Gehm.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care given to Robert by the staffs at Wynwood of Manlius and Iroquois Nursing Home.
A private service will be conducted at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan Center, 215 N. State St., Syracuse, NY 13203.
