The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Myrna Benedict can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Carol Hay
Condolence: I want to thank Mryn's nephew David for notifying me across the miles of her passing on August 8th. My mother, Janet Cox Hicklin, and Myrn were great life-long friends after meeting at Keuka College in the 1950's.

Myrn was a favorite "aunt" for me and my 3 siblings. She made several trips to the Midwest during our childhood and we loved her infectious personality and zest for life. We were able to visit her twice in Manlius. In, 1998 Myrn and Michael made a special trip to Wisconsin for the burial of my mother's ashes at Whispering Lake in the Nicolet National Forest. I continued to correspond with Myrn at least once a year to keep her up-to-date on our family. We could always count on a gift of Florida oranges and grapefruit at Christmas!

Fortunately, a 2011 business trip to East Aurora, NY meant that I was able to take a long weekend and visit Myrn. We had a great time, especially our day at the Great New York State Fair where she enjoyed looking at the cows (especially the Brown Swiss), the roosters, and the draft horses. We enjoyed an Italian sausage sandwich and visited the quilt exhibit. I still remember one of her sayings, "Lord, love a duck!" and the chuckle that would usually follow. I'll miss her!

Condolence: To the family of Myrna, I just wanted to let you know that I am very saddened by the passing of Myrna. My father, Robert "Bob" Bullard worked with Mike for many years and talked about him and Myrna all the time. They kept in touch after Mikes death and my mom's death. My dad passed away this past January. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: Myrna was a priceless original. She made me laugh, cry, and use my mind. I taught with her and learned from her. The world has lost one of its purest and brightest lights. You will be missed.

Condolence: What can one say when they read of the passing of one of their greatest teachers? Miss Benedict was my 4th grade teacher at Enders Road Elementary School and was a gem. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
