Obituary for Beverly E. Hammond

Our loving friend and mother, Beverly (Dietzel) Hammond, was welcomed into the arms of God with her loved ones by her side, on the afternoon of September 7, 2015. Beverly, of Kirkville, NY, was 67 years old. Originally from Albany, NY, her parents, Gwendolyn and Paul Dietzel, predeceased Beverly.
She is survived by her son Kenneth Hammond, her daughter-in-law Kari Hammond, and her beloved grandson Wesley Hammond of Manlius NY. Beverly is also survived by her brothers Roy (Barbara) and Ernest (Paula), her nieces Melissa and Shannon, her nephews John and Michael, and her longtime family friend Helen Wyld all of Albany NY.
Beverly was a graduate of the Colonie High School Class of 1966 and she went on to earn her associates degree from SUNY Cobleskill in 1968.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time working on home improvement projects, laughing with her girlfriends, crafting and working craft shows with her childhood friends, and working in her garden. After a long career at Agway Inc., she went on to work, and retire from, Longley Jones, where she met many new friends.
Beverly loved the Adirondacks and in lieu of flowers, we ask that you make contributions in her name to Paul Smith’s College, Office of College Advancement, PO Box 265, Paul Smiths, NY 12970.
Calling hours will be held at the Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Road Manlius, from 4-7p.m. on Thursday, September 10. She will be laid to rest the following day, with a private service, at Memory Gardens in Albany.
